Bassmaster Magazine has featured our snagless crankbaits (the HotBack deep-diver and the Termite lipless rattle bait) twice in 2008! Word is spreading not only in this country, but into Mexico, Brazil, Australia, Italy and other addresses. Our patented snagless designs are in much design because now fishermen are able to throw directly into the nastiest wood and weed cover - on purpose! They know that big fish frequently call this thick cover "home", and that there is nothing that triggers these big girls more than having a crankbait bang thru their living room. We designed these lures back in 1982 and 1991 respectively when we were fishing a lot of bass tournaments on lakes with wood cover. We couldn't afford the time to try to retrieve lures that had hung up, and we'd want to cry when we lost a favoite, money-winning crankbait!

New for 2008: First and foremost is our phonomenally successful marabou jig, the High-Calorie Jig. So named because the body of marabou gives the perception of more meat, more calories, but without the lure having to be any bigger than the commercial jigs. Dealers from around the country ordered this jig after having seen it in our booth at ICAST 2007. It's a very productive tool for fresh and saltwater gamefish. Next up this year is our Hefty Girl double-bladed weedless inline ("bucktail") spinner. Of course it has our trademark big weedless treble hooks in sizes for big bass, striper, pike, musky and many saltwater fish. But key to the Hefty Girls is its two blades. We make the Hefty Girls with double #5 Colorado blades , double #8 Colorado, double #9 Indiana, double #10 Indiana and double #12 Indiana. Some companies are calling these big blades Colorados, but they are not. They're magnum Indianas. The #5 model is made for bass and very early season cold-water musky/pike. The #8 model is for big bass and musky/pike in shallow water (the Colorados provide a lot of lift). The #9 Indiana model is for deeper presentations such as down a weed wall, a drop off, standing timber, etc. because the Indianas don't cup quite as much water as Colorados. The #10 and #12 are for when monsters get turned on and they're in shallow water or at least looking up and willing to come from deeper water to hit these shallow-running inlines. Again, the #10 and #12 are not a lure you'd throw any time because they are such pullers - you'd where your arm out just chunking this thing blindly. Wait till big fish make their presence known, and then load one of these models on very big tackle. Send us pictures!
