| We are firm believers in "non-shiny" terminal tackle given the
pressure our fish are facing these days - thus our customized "coffee-color"
wire frames used on both inline spinners (bucktails) and spinnerbaits. Fish may be pretty dumb, but after seeing so many odd things coming thru the water everyday, they're not stupid. What do you think causes fish to "follow"? It's usually because of all the shiny, gaudy materials that the commercial crap lures are made of - even the profoundly dense can come to the conclusion that "This ain't right!". So when fishing this commercial stuff, the fisherman must wait until the fish "turn on" and drop their guard. At M&PTC, with our time so valuable, we just figure why wait.
We also use only the finest solid-brass blades and stainless steel hardware. We hand-dip all our blades in lacquer to keep them from tarnishing after use. Then, we apply just a "Splash of Color™" metalic color to the primary blades. Finally, the painted blades are coated with a clear sealer that minimizes chipping for years of service. All this is labor-intensive, but we're sure you will appreciate it when you go to use the lure again and the blades are still as bright as the day you bought them! We also use the very best silky smooth black nickel ball-bearing swivels available anywhere. And we also use the best black nickel super sharp hooks we have found. Finally, we literally hand-select our marabou quills. There is a big difference in marabou out there. Much of it is stiff as a cob. and that just won't do for us. |
