Meat and Potatoes Tackle Company

We use only the finest solid-brass blades and stainless steel hardware. We hand-dip the brass finish blades in lacquer to keep them from tarnishing after use. This is labor-intensive, but we're sure you will appreciate it when you go to use the lure again and the brass blade is still as bright as the day you bought it! We also use the very best black nickle ball-bearing swivels available anywhere. And we use the best black nickel ultra-point hooks we have found. And finally, we literally hand-select our marabou quills. There is a big difference in marabou, and much of of what is available will just not do for us.

Color:  Blue Shad

Blade: Nickel      Your choice of single or tandem Colorado, Willow or fluted Indiana styles. See options below.

Hook: 5/0 Black Nickle Mustad Ultra Point (sharp)

Price: 1/2 oz  $11.00

             1 oz    $12.00

We have carefully crafted this color to mimic many knids of smaller baitfish. The soft, baby blue marabou "mingles" with the basic white "body" when retrieved. And, the off-white eggshell color marabou that we put on the belly provides the very realistic look of a fishes belly - an absolute key attractor when "fish are looking up"...which they are usually doing. Add the two, long schlappen tail feathers, and you've got one nice meal for Ms. Big.

Color:  Black Crappie

Weights: 1/2 oz,  1 oz

Blade(s): Nickel      Your choice of single or tandem Colorado, Willow or fluted Indiana styles. See options below.

Hook: 5/0 Black Nickle Mustad Ultra Point (sharp)

Price: 1/2 oz  $11.00

             1 oz    $12.00

This is another of our custom colors. We build on a basic white marabou body with our own custom black-tipped marabou. We then add a specific amount of grey to the back to be most anatomically correct. Then add the eggshell belly feathers. Finally, the two long, black schlappens as "kickers" are the icing on top.

Color:  Bone

Weights: 1/2 oz,  1 oz

Blade(s): Orange      Your choice of single or tandem Colorado, Willow or fluted Indiana styles. See options below.

Hook: 5/0 Black Nickle Mustad Ultra Point (sharp)

Price: 1/2 oz  $11.00

             1 oz    $12.00

Another custom color of ours that can really put fish in the boat! We build on our basic bone color (eggshell and white mix). Then we add an orange "splash" which really sets other "bone" colors apart from ours. Finally, the bronze schlappen's as the "twin enticers" trailing behind the lure complete this meal. This bone/orange combo has won a lot of tournament money down through the years.
BLADE STYLE AND SIZE OPTIONS:   Any Bass Spinnerbait can have blade or blade combos of from sizes #3 thru #8 in any blade style. Our most popular blade configurations are #5 Colorado for the single spin. For the tandem Willow and Indiana, the most popular configuration is #3 and #5. You name it - you got it!

The Meat and Spud Spinnerbait

The first of the tournament-winning designs (c.1972) from Meat and Potatoes Tackle Company. The deep models used in deep, clear water are so deadly on the lake monsters population, that if not for Catch and Release taking hold among most good fishermen, this lure would absolutely decimate the population of these big breeder females. Literally countless bass 6-10 lbs on this lure in the midwest alone. Hand selected and hand tied marabou quills move so much more seductively than standard plastic skirts! Fish this deep and fish it in structure such as treetops, stumps or docks. Be prepared for unbelievable results very quickly. It's not "if" you've caught a hog this year; it's HOW MANY THIS YEAR!
