COOT BUZZBAITS - We needed a buzzbait that we could crawl dead-slow on top. We'll burn it now and then, but our best success comes crawling it very slow on top. This presentation allows fish to really zero in and load up on this bait. So we put 4 blades on a single shaft and now we have the lift necessary to crawl it. As for the Yellow Bullhead color, most guys don't know that black is a real sleeper color for a topwater lure....try it and you'll generally catch bigger fish - on average - using black. And for you guys that fish at night, this is a dandy color for "after hours".

Why marabou? 1. Because it has far superior movement than plastic skirts or deer hair. 2. It shows "body" that big fish are looking for...and see-thru plastic skirts just don't show "meat" that bigger predators are tuned to. We discovered 4" marabou 10 years ago and we've not thrown anything with a plastic skirt on it ever since. Any lure the commercial companies slap a plastic skirt on are made far better using marabou instead. We're after big fish every cast, and plastic skirts just catch too many pinheads. To be clear: We've taken thousands of fish on plastic skirts over 5 decades. Marabou is just better at taking big fish consistently. Period. Some day the commercial companies may catch up. All our marabou is hand-dyed and hand-tied. Labor of love that is important if catching bigger, smarter fish is your kind of fishing. Worried about marabou holding up? Fear not. We also go after musky and pike many times per year(these fish know how to pull and go ballistic!), and our marabou baits last for seasons on them. We guess the feathers are so fine that they come thru the teeth like floss and fish just can't get a grip on them.
