The Hefty Girl™ in Marabou (Click here for Flashabou)

UPDATE: We've been fishing for over 50 years. About 150 tournaments behind us and too many consumer and trade shows to mention. The thing we are asked most about is "what color?". So what we've done is produce "color catagories". Clear, stained, muddy, algae bloom, green, black. It's not on our website yet, but until then, if you have a question about "What color?", please give us a call toll free to discuss what kind of water (catagories) you would like a little help with: 866-863-6328. We're here to help you catch (and release!) the most and biggest fish possible. Consistently. Thanks.

The double blades shown on the lures below are examples, but one look shows you we put a brass and a nickel on every Hefty Girl. Reason is simple: With one of each color, you have the right blade for any color water or sky cover condition. Brass/nickel flash creates a 'blended' look that's too nice! Though some blades shown are painted, we never paint any blades a solid color as some lures show below - unless you call to request it. We use our proprietary weedless treble hook(s) 3/0 - 5/0 depending on lure weight. Check. Our extra long marabou in custom dyed colors + our proprietary twin trailer feathers (NOT the stiff-as-a-cob "hackle" like all the other commercial crap out there). Check. Our hand-dipped in lacquer blades and then our special "splash" painting of the blades to take the all-nickel or all-brass look off 'em.. Check. Our trademark wire that we tint brown at the factory - we don't like shiny/gaudy/spooky commercial crap any more than the fish do. Check. So we now took our famous Weedless Inline Special with one blade and tested it until perfected with double blades. We make it in the best all-around sizes that will catch fish of many species just about every day of the year. Sizes: 3/4 oz early/late-season cold water model (single marabou tail with our 3/0 weedless treble); 1 oz summer model (single marabou tail with our 5/0 weedless treble); and 2 oz fall season, food-riot model (two marabouu tails with two of our 5/0 weedless trebles).

We throw the Colorado #8 blades to keep the Hefty Girl high in the water when fish are in very shallow water and lookin' up. We throw the Indiana blades much more often because A.) We want to cover the water column fast, B.) We're in deeper water, C.) We want to slow-roll the Hefty Girl down a ditch or a deep weedline, or D.) we're in deep standing timber. We can slow-roll the Indianas because, altho they cup a bunch of water like Colorados, they don't build the "lift" tha the broader Colorados do. We also throw the Indianas in cold water or when fishing pressure drives fish nuts or deep or both. We catch fish slow-rolling our Indiana inlines in 14-24' when fish just don't want to look up. Hey, it's a circus out there sometimes. You know that. And all too often the fish just don't want to go. So don't fight it. Go deeper. Go slower. Use the Indianas. Got wood? Got weeds? No worries. Use Meat and Potatoes Tackle's weedless treble hooks. GET FISH! Check. P.S. We have 30+ colors. Call us and we might be able to satisfy your special need.

OUR CUSTOM-PAINTED BLADES WE PUT ON OUR DB MAGNUMS AND OUR DOUBLE-BLADED BUCKTAILS
hgbc Standard blades top row down and left to right: Black on nickel, Black/red on nickel, Blue on nickel, Black/blue on nickel, Orange on brass, Black on brass, Black/Blue on brass, All Black on Brass, Black/pink on Nickel. We marry one of these colors with the color of the flashabou or marabou - we've done a lot of fishing with these, and feel we have the right blade for the lure dressing color, but if you wish to make sure you get "your" color from this list, call us toll-free on 866-863-6328.
